Polk County RC Raceway is a fun, family friendly environment dedicated to the hobby of racing radio controlled vehicles.  Enjoy the competition and challenge of pushing yourself and your machines to the limits at a fraction of the cost of full scale racing.  Master hand-eye coordination, vehicle physics, and electrical education to find your way to the front of the pack.

Don’t know where to get started?  Stop by, we’ll help you out!  PCRC is an all volunteer organization.  We don’t sell cars, so you won’t get any sales pressure, but we may have a member with a good used car to get you started.  If not, Hobby Town USA or Sleeth Hobbies in Springfield can get you set up with everything you need to get started!

PCRC offers a place to race 1/10th and 1/12th scale electric RC cars.  We have offroad carpet with jumps, table tops, and bumpy lanes. We offer electricity, water, pit tables as available, and limited chairs.  Our off-road driver stand is handicap accessible with a ramp.

Drivers work on their cars between races. Each table features an overhead lamp and several plenty of electrical outlets.

We operate with computerized lap counting utilizing iLaps transponders.  While the AMB transponders are more common, the iLaps infrared transponders offer a more affordable alternative for both the track and the drivers.  House transponders are available.

The most common tire on our track is the Gone Bananas Racing Skinz.  These tires are hand made to order and can also often be bought at the track.  We have had a great time racing on these tires which are both affordable and excellent performers on our carpet.

Rent a Traxxas Slash to try out on the track. There is limited availability, so they're first come, first serve and as-available.

Don’t have a car but want to see what it’s all about?  Come on out and rent a Traxxas Slash for only $5.  No hidden fees, for $5 you get working truck and batteries for the day.  If you’ve never driven before, we recommend coming out on an open practice night.  Once you’re comfortable with driving, step up to race in a Novice class.  We’re sure you’ll want to buy your own car, but shop around!  While we won’t try to sell you anything, we may be able to help you find a good deal on a used vehicle.
